Ray-Ban 4089 Balorama - Christian Bale - Ford v. Ferrari

Christian Bale wears Ray-Ban 4089 Balorama sunglasses in the 2019 movie Ford v. Ferrari.

In the film, Christian Bale plays Ken Miles, a British World War II veteran and a professional race car driver that drives the Ford GT40 race car developed by Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon).

The Ray-Ban Balorama sunglasses worn by Bale have black frame, two rivets on the each side on the front of the frame, and two round rivets on each of the temples, just before the Ray-Ban logo.

These are a modern version of a similar model glasses worn by the original driver Ken Miles himself (see black and white photo on the left).

The film takes places in the 1960s, and this model of glasses already existed at the time. The Ballorama is a classic frame, an original design from Ray-Ban when it was still owned by Bausch & Lomb, then with model number L2870. Vintage Balorama frames don't have the Ray-Ban logo on the temples, so Bale is wearing a slightly anachronistic pair of sunglasses in the film, but they look good!

Note that the glasses are sometimes offered in different sizes (58mm and the larger but standard 62mm) so make sure to get the right size for you.
