Royal Pains is an american tv series, about a down and out surgeon who has a chance to redeem himself as a small town physician in the wealthy beach community of East Hampton, NY. The series stars Mark Feuerstein and Paulo Costanzo.

The pilot was filmed in the Hamptons, Long Island, New York in fall 2008, and the series was made into the first season (12 episodes). The first episode premiered on Thursday, June 4, 2009. The pilot was directed by Jace Alexander, who also filmed the pilot of Burn Notice, another USA show, which airs in the hour before Royal Pains.
