Oakley Thump or O-ROKR Pro - Dominic Monaghan - Soldiers of Fortune
In the movie Soldiers of Fortune, the character Sin (played by Dominic Monaghan, well known for his role as Charlie in the tv series Lost) wears a pair of Oakley earphone sunglasses, either the Thump Pro or O-ROKR Pro. Both these shades feature built in earphones and have the same frame. Visually these glasses are different in that the O-ROKR Pro has a polished black frame and the Thump Pro a slightly transparent Chrystal Black frame, but it's hard to see which version is used in the film.
The O-ROKR Pro features bluetooth wireless functionality so you can listen to music from another (bluetooth) source while the Thump Pro only supports playback from its built-in memory. The Thump Pro sunglasses can to store up to 240 songs on the 1 GB version, 120 songs on the 512 MB version, or 60 songs on the 256 MB version, and supports storage of data files along with song files. Compatible with most popular music jukebox programs that use AAC, MP3, WMA files. A Hi-Speed USB 2.0 cable for transferring song files from your Mac or PC is included.
On the super lightweight frame 5 control buttons are intuitively placed for fast easy access. The glasses offer up to 6 hours of playback time on a single charge, enough to power you through your most grueling training session. Charge Time 3.0 hours. Fast charge (80% capacity) in 1.5 hours. Three-color indicator light to show battery level.
In the movie, the glasses are supposed to work as screens on which Sin plays video games, unfortunately that is not possible with the real Oakleys.
This Thump Pro and O-ROKR Pro from Oakley is not produced anymore, but can only be found on eBay.com (click here to see current Thump Pro listings or here for O-ROKR Pro listings), where you can also find replacement lenses, batteries and other related accessories for this special pair of sunglasses.
