theo is a Belgian brand of designer eyewear, founded by two fresh but driven opticians, Wim Somers and Patrick Hoet ('theo' is an anagram of 'Hoet', Patrick's last name). The brand features many interesting eyewear designed in cooperation with other (clothing) designers, for example Tim van Steenbergen.

Both the theo brand and Tim Van Steenbergen label have been operating abroad for quite some time. theo is now sold in some 1,500 sales outlets spread across 50 countries. Tim Van Steenbergen’s clothing can be found in exclusive boutiques in Russia, the US and Japan. Nor is this the first time that famous heads have found their way to these Belgians. Elton John, Bill Gates and Robin Williams are well-known theo fans. In both Sex and the City movies, Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) was wearing a theo! In the meantime, Tim Van Steenbergen’s clothing has been worn by Rihanna and Katy Perry. Furthermore, he was appointed as the artistic director of the top Belgian label Chine in 2008. The Wagner cycle ‘Der Ring des Nibelungen’ was recently premiered in la Scala in Milan, where Tim was also responsible for the costumes.
